In the first phase, we focused on the process water heating of the coffee extraction plants. Using the PINCH methodology, it was thus possible to identify the optimum heat recovery and calculate the potential. This was implemented through the consistent use of heat exchangers in the processes (see photo).
The annual saving of 5 million KWh with this measure corresponds to the average heating energy of 1,300 apartments (new construction) with a floor area of 100m2.
*a method for more energy efficiency and economy in industry.
